1.  Make Sure your operating system patches and security software are always up to date

3. Do not open an attachments from unknown sources or from emails that appear to be from a legitimate source but are suspicious.

4. Regularly back up important data and keep it within unconnected storage. ( not connected to internet )

5. Consider moving more data to cloud services that nowadays have offered by Google and others Internet giants.

6. Ensure staff are educated in good basic SOP in computing practices and how to spot threats.

7. Regularly use the antivirus to identify if a computer is infected. If so, disconnect it from networks immediately and seek professional advice.

8. If you believe you have been compromised, change online account passwords and network passwords after removing the system from the network.

9. Block any .exe files over email, including within ZIP files. This can usually be done using an anti-spam system.
